At this event, we took a closer look at sugar and its addictive properties. We also explored ways to incorporate spices and herbs into meals to make them more delicious and nutritious!
Did you know that sugar can be addicting? Studies have shown that sugar is noteworthy as a substance that releases opioids and dopamine in the brain which can trigger neurochemical changes similar to those caused by addictive drugs.
At this event, I shared tips and tricks on how to overcome sugar addiction and break the cycle of craving and binging.
As a group, we talked about the ways to combat sugar addiction in our own lives. We also discussed how to boost flavor by incorporating healthy, delicious spices and herbs into our cooking.
Sugar can be dangerous and detrimental to our health, however there are ways we can control our intake while being mindful of the nourishment our bodies need.
